Job Ready Program and trade skills assessments
The Job Ready Program is run by Trades Recognition Australia (TRA). It is a skills assessment program for some international students who completed an Australian vocational qualification in an eligible trade occupation. It combines a period of employment in Australia with workplace and final assessments.
Eligibility, steps and requirements are set and decided by TRA, and they change from time to time. Please read the official Job Ready Program information and FAQs before making plans. We can explain how a skills assessment fits with your visa options, but we do not decide or guarantee assessment outcomes.
- Skills assessments are decided by the relevant assessing authority, not by us
- Visa decisions are made separately by the Department of Home Affairs
- Check the official TRA information for current eligibility and steps
