Visa services
Student Migration
Who this is for
- People accepted, or planning to apply, for a registered course in Australia
- Students changing course or education provider
- Students planning how their study fits with longer-term goals
How this pathway works
To study in Australia you generally need a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) in a course registered on CRICOS, and you must hold a student visa for the duration of your course.
Your application needs to show that you are a genuine student, that you have enough money to support your stay, and that you meet English, health and character requirements. Overseas Student Health Cover is required. Planning your course carefully matters, because your study choices can affect future visa options.
Key considerations
- Choosing a course and provider that suit your goals and are registered on CRICOS
- Evidence that you are a genuine student
- Financial capacity for tuition, living costs and travel
- Work limitations and other visa conditions
- How your study may relate to future graduate or skilled pathways
