Sharma Migration ("we", "us") provides Australian migration advice and assistance. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Information we collect

When you contact us, complete a visa assessment or request a consultation, we may collect:

  • your name, email address, phone number and the country you live in
  • your citizenship, date of birth and current visa details
  • information about your qualifications, work experience, English language ability, study, family or relationship circumstances, where relevant to your enquiry
  • anything else you choose to tell us in your message

If you become a client, we will collect further information and documents needed to provide migration services. Some of this information may be sensitive, such as health or criminal record information, and we only collect it where it is reasonably necessary and with your consent.

Please do not send passport numbers, identity documents or other sensitive documents through our website forms. We will tell you how to provide documents securely if they are needed.

How we use your information

  • to respond to your enquiry and assess which visa options may be relevant to you
  • to arrange and conduct consultations
  • to provide migration services if you engage us, including preparing and lodging applications
  • to meet our legal and professional obligations as registered migration agents

We do not sell your personal information, and we will not send you marketing communications without your consent.

Who we may share it with

  • the Department of Home Affairs and other government bodies, when acting on your instructions
  • service providers that help us operate, such as our website hosting and email providers, who may only use the information to provide their services to us
  • anyone else you authorise, or where we are required or authorised by law

Storage outside Australia

Our website and the information submitted through it are hosted by a third-party provider, and may be stored on servers located outside Australia, including in Singapore. We take reasonable steps to ensure our providers protect your information.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access. Our website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, sensitive details submitted through our forms are encrypted when stored, and access is limited to people who need it to assist you.

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above or to meet our legal and professional record-keeping obligations, after which it is securely deleted or de-identified.

Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies to keep forms secure and working correctly. We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
